Where the data comes from

Site records come from the Atout France classement register, the official French classification file. Coordinates are geocoded by the Base Adresse Nationale. Facility figures are read from operator websites where an operator publishes them, and every figure keeps the URL and the date it was read.

1,342 sites are held back rather than published. Their stored records do not carry enough fields to describe the site, and a thin page is worse than no page. They appear here when the data does.

How the pages are built

Deterministic code computes the claims; a model only turns those claims into sentences, and a round-trip check rejects any sentence that added, dropped or altered one. Read the longer version on the about page.
